Shenglong Metallurgical Co is celebrating the hot commissioning of its new slab continuous caster 3.

Two 2-strand casters, each with a 2,150mm specification, had to be built at the same time at Shenglong plant in China’s Guangxi Province. The second caster’s startup is scheduled for January 2023.

CISDI was the EPC-based contractor for both slab casters, providing all core tech and equipment and process models, including:

ü  mould’s online breadth regulation

ü  mould’s hydraulic oscillation

ü  high-precision segments

ü  strand’s EMS

ü  three-dimensional dynamic secondary cooling model

ü  dynamic soft reduction model

ü  oxyhydrogen torch cutter

ü  robot spraying marker.

These highly advanced features play a critical role, enabling caster 3 to operate with high efficiency and intelligence, resulting in high quality production at lower costs.

The continuous casting project will supply the market with strong, weather-proof structural, automobile, welded gas vessel and high-tensile pipeline steels, bringing new momentum to Shenglong’s quest for higher quality products and greater profitability.
